about us

Fakopp Bt was established in 2005, in order to develop, produce and market testing equipment for forestry and the wood industries. It was established based on a private enterprise that operated between 1994 and 2005, thus our company has more than 25 years of professional experience. We invite you to look around, browse our products, peruse our downloadable materials, and to contact us if you have any questions!

product history

1994
Microsecond Timer

General purpose timer for wooden structure evaluation, predicting wood stiffness, and detecting hidden defect inside trees. This version of the product is discontinued and superseded by the newer version released in 2001.

1996
screw withdrawal force meter

Predicts wood density. The higher the screw withdrawal force is, the higher the material density. More information about the most recent revision of this device can be found at the Screw Withdrawal Force Meter product page.

1998
portable lumber grader

Allows quick measurement of lumber MOE – Modulus of Elasticity. See the Portable Lumber Grader product page for the most recent revision of this device.

2000
fakopp 2D

First step in acoustic tomography, simple evaluation. This version of the product was discontinued and superseded by the newer version released in 2001.

2001
microsecond timer

New design, new starter sensor. See the product page for more details.

2002
fakopp 2D

Cell based inversion algorithm. This version of the product is discontinued and superseded by the ArborSonic 3D Acoustic Tomograph released in 2006.

2005
treeSonic

Industrial version of Microsecond Timer for wood stiffness determination – sensors are equipped with a sliding hammer for quick operation. See the TreeSonic Timer product page for the most recent revision of this device.

2005
resonance log grader

Measures stress wave velocity in log by longitudinal vibration. See the Resonance Log Grader product page for the latest version of this software.

2006
arborsonic 3D acoustic tomograph

A more advanced version of Fakopp 2D, extended with an inversion algorithm and a 3D visualization. See the ArborSonic 3D Acoustic Tomograph product page for more information.

2007
ultraSonic timer

For testing veneer or small and sensitive wooden objects where nail and hammer is not allowed. See the UltraSonic Timer product page for the most recent revision of this device.

2009
root detector

Introduction of soil sensor for detecting roots.

2011
pulling test

For root stability evaluation using inclinometers. This version of the product is discontinued and superseded by the newer version released in 2017.

2016
dynaRoot

Determines root stability safety factor based on the correlation between tree trunk inclination and wind pressure. See the DynaRoot Root Evaluation System product page for the most recent revision of this device.

2017
pulling test

A new central unit was introduced which accepts two elastometers, two inclinometers and one force meter. See the Pulling Test product page for the most recent revision of this device.

2018
ArborElectro

The ArborElectro impedance tomograph was presented. This device can map active fungi attacks.

2019
Fakopp Competition

Fakopp celebrated its 25th anniversary with a competition. The participating teams had to prove both their measuring skills and both their understanding of the principle of tomography. The fastest measurement was done within 2 and half minutes. Check the videos of the measurements and photos about the competition in the competition gallery.

2020
Ludwig sensors

ArborSonic was extended as the Ludwig sensors became a new option. With Ludwig Sensors you can enter more precise geometry and take more detailed measurements.
